About Chiang Rai Tour
A guide for your days in Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai Tour is an independent guide for everyone who wants to see Chiang Rai. Here you will find how the temple day from Chiang Mai works and how the day trips compare, what a private tour or a bicycle tour includes, how to visit the White Temple, the Blue Temple, the Red Temple with its giant Guan Yin and the Black House, how to reach the Golden Triangle, how to get from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, and what else to see in the province.
The site is available in English and five additional languages. It is written first in English.
How we research
Every number on our pages comes from a source that we link to at the bottom of the page: mostly the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Airports of Thailand for the Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai airport, the Thailand Foundation and the Thai Meteorological Department. The month-by-month climate figures are NOAA's 1991 to 2020 records for the Chiang Rai station, and the day length is our own calculation. Information on tours, that is duration, stops, languages, inclusions, and starting prices, is taken from the offers on GetYourGuide and Viator. If a source does not provide something, we do not write it.
Tours differ in how long they stay at each temple, which entrance fees they include and whether they stop at a hill tribe village. That is why we tell you plainly what each listing states, what the official sources say, and leave the choice to you.
How we make money
Chiang Rai Tour is funded through the GetYourGuide and Viator affiliate programs. When you book through one of our links, we receive a commission; your price remains the same. There are no advertising banners here, and we do not sell your data.
Who is behind it
Chiang Rai Tour is run by Lukas Weber from Munich. You will find all details about the provider in the legal notice. The easiest way to send questions, comments, or corrections is to email [email protected].
